Job Summary System Engineer, involved into the design and the technical development of inertial navigation systems (either for the Industrial domain or for the Aerospace&Defence domain). Main tasks will be the analysis of customer requirements, the generation of the system architecture and the set of formal system requirements, the definition of the applicable methods for the requirements validation, the specification of the procedures required to verify the design, the support for the proper installation of the product into the target platform and the overall coordination of the system development, integration and qualification/certification activities, together with the continuous relationship with the customer for all technical aspects. Duties and responsabilities Support definition and drafting of the System Development Plans in accordance with the recognized standards (ARP4754, ARP4761) Organizing and ruling the documentation for the program development Define High level System Requirements and System Architecture Flow-down of requirements from system to items level (SW, HW, MECH, etc.) Review of low-level requirements for the various subassemblies and components (mechanical parts, electronic boards, optical and opto-electronics components, software and firmware (FPGA) modules), configuration parameters) Static and dynamic analysis of IMU performance Support the System Test Department in the definition of System Test procedure and Qualificaton Plan according to widely recognized standards (ARP-4754, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461) Support system integration and test of INS/AHRS/IMU with complex software and hardware Review and approval of technical design documents and data pertaining to the system under development Review of acceptance test reports, qualification test reports, similarity analysis reports and all technical studies related to the system under development Evaluation of the technical specification included in the documentation package of the bid/request for proposal (RFP), to contribute to the preparation of the technical proposal and to the compilation of the requirements compliance matrix Qualification and skills Required Skills University degree in Electronics, Opto-Electronics, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent Knowledge of avionics, navigation and related algorithms, control systems theory Knowledge of main communication interfaces and protocols Knowledge of relevant System and Safety engineering standard such as ARP-4754, ARP-4761 Knowledge of RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461 environmental/EMC test standards Knowledge of MathWorks MATLAB/Simulink Familiarity with requirements management tools (preferred IBM Rational DOORS) Familiarity with system safety concepts and reliability assessment (PSSA, SSA, FMECA, FTA, etc.) Ability to work in team Ability to work under pressure Ability to adopt the proper communication attitude to be effective depending on the audience and context, within the technical team Systematic and organized to manage project documentation and to keep track and archive every minute information generated during the system development Capable to perform in-depth investigation of system failures or anomalies adopting a multidisciplinary attitude Knowledge of English language (at least intermediate level) Preferred Skills Knowledge of reliability prediction standards (preferred MIL-HDBK-217F) Knowledge of model based design Knowledge of EASA and ESA documentation ruling the product qualification/certification 1 or 2 years of experience in a similar role Benefits and Perks Free lunch meal, coffee bar, additional health insurance Powered by JazzHR
