Job Summary Leading the Software Department including both design and V&V activities. The SW Departiment is in charge to release software items for both Aerospace/Defence and Industrial branches of company products. Responsibilities include also the necessary artifacts to prove the needed software quality and that system integration is correctly reached. Responsibilities and Duties Leading 10+ people SW team targeting both technical and non-technical objectivies Defining guidelines and approving design, implementation and validation of INS/AHRS/IMU embedded software architectures, based on FOG and MEMS technology in safety critical application (Aerospace / Space / Land / Maritime ) and industrial application In charge of definition and implementation of the software development cycle (Plans, Design, Requirement management, Coding and V&V) under DO-178C (up to DAL A) and AS/EN 9100 Leading SW SOI audits against different CVEs Supporting system team for system and safety analysis based on ARP4754A and ARP4761A (PSSA, SSA, SEU Analysis, FMEA, FMECA) Supporting hardware team for DO-254 activities, Hardware/Software Integration testing, and AMC20-152A HW objectives Interaction and support with Software Quality Assurance during review steps Supporting the proposal team: activities time and materials estimation, raising early-warnings and risk-assessment, support for GANTT definition for short to long-term projects Handling Sub-Contractors with a frequent follow-up due to specific activity off-load Analysis and resolution of issues related to the SW/System integration and HW/SW integration process Qualification and Skills Required Skills Proven knowledge of the DO-178 development cycle, with specific experience on project management though every stage: planning, requirements, design, development, integration, verification, conformity (from pre-SOI1 to SOI4 closure). Proven experience on assessing different SOI against CVEs or the certification authority Experience of software development withing the AS/EN 9100 quality standard Experience on leading both Embedded Software Design and Software V&V groups with specific expertise on safety-critical environments. Experience on leading team of 8+ people targeting the following objectives: software quality meeting technical activities deadlines providing technical risk-assessment and early-warnings on different projects defining time-estimation for the different activities contribution to define GANTT for the different projects supporting proposal team by providing detailed estimation of SW activities for a whole project (up to 2-3 years of project lifespan). Proven knowledge of GNU/Linux OS declined for embedded boards Knowledge of MISRA-C standard Experience on interacting with the HW department HW/SW Interface definition activities. Experience on interacting with the System and Safety departments for system requirement flow-down and supporting activities related to ARP4754 and 4761. Experience on supporting and interacting with the Software quality assurance mainly within DO-178C and AS/EN 9100 processes. Experience on Software Code review. Experience on working with the SLC using the classic V-model. Fluent in English. Preferred Skills 5+ years of experience programming embedded systems in C and Assembly languages.
